Summit Agencies is proud to announce that it has been appointed Eastern and Western Cape Agents for GWS (Global Water Solutions) pre-pressurised diaphragm vessels. These tanks are predominantly used for reverse osmosis, thermal and heating solutions as well as water well solutions. CBN met up with James Robertson of Summit Agencies to find out more.
With a 45-year trading history, Summit Agencies are specialist importers and wholesalers of pumps and associated products. The company services the agricultural industry for irrigation, as well as the wine industry that use a lot of pumps in their production processes.
Another large market is the fishing industry that use their pumps on boats for water supply and waste removal, the manufacturing sector and the domestic markets that use sewerage pumps, slurry pumps, pond and swimming pool pumps amongst others. Summit Agencies also supply pressurised tanks and sprayers to these industries.
With branches in both Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, Summit Agencies already represent a number of premium Italian suppliers that it has successfully supported for a number of years. “The company has built long-lasting relationships with reputable suppliers, and sources quality products that we are confident can be backed up by these suppliers,“ says Robertson. These include Foras, Ebara and Alpha. According to Robertson, this makes Summit an obvious fit for the GWS Brand.
GWS has a massive global footprint, and are represented in over 100 countries. It has manufacturing plants in both the US and in Taiwan, and distribution points across the globe, including South America, China and Europe (which is covered by Italy, France and Spain.)
GWS specialise in the design and manufacture of pre-pressurised diaphragm pressure tanks. It manufactures tanks from 0.16 litres to 10,000 litres in size, which are pressurised to 10, 16 and 25 bar. The tanks are Epoxy coated, making them extremely resistant to UV and salt spray, which is relevant in the coastal areas. GWS tanks have a patented water supply inlet, made of 316 stainless steel.
This is extremely important when using the tanks for drinking purposes. The tanks do not have a bladder, but come with an FDA-approved butyl diaphragm, making them suitable for drinking water. There is a virgin polypropylene liner in the tank, protecting the water from any contamination or contact with the steel, which can cause rust.
This allows GWS to offer an extended warranty, “the best in the market,” of up to five years. All of these features make for an extremely low maintenance, and in some cases a no-maintenance solution. The client can therefore buy the products, install them and leave them alone.
With Summit Agencies’ long history in the industry, Robertson says, “our technical representatives and sales team have grown up in the industry. This means that the team is extremely knowledgably about the products that the company supplies and have the expertise to support the products. We offer a comprehensive service in terms of sizing and supplying the pumps to the client. In terms of aftersales service, we hold a large stock of spares for all of the pumps we supply, as well as two fully equipped workshops that service and repair pumps and associated products. “
Summer in the Western Cape, with its hot, dry conditions make it the busiest time for the Pump industry. “Summit Agencies is always trying to balance supply from overseas with the local demand. We are confident that Summit agencies can supply clients with the right product for their unique use,“ concludes Robertson. See the video of this interview on www.cbn.co.za
