FNB will be contributing R10 million towards relief efforts aimed at helping those impacted by widespread fires in parts of the Western Cape and Eastern Cape Provinces.

Stephan Claassen, FNB Provincial Head says the fires over the last few days in the Southern Cape area have been devastating on communities and businesses. "As an organisation we would like to help in whichever way we can to support all communities that have been affected. If there is help there is hope, and that is desperately needed by the people affected by this disaster.”

“The Bank is also making its branch network and corporate buildings available and encourages the public to donate food and other supplies by dropping them off at their nearest FNB branch or building in the impacted provinces. We will coordinate with the various programmes and disaster relief efforts to ensure the help arrives where it is needed most," he adds.

“Our teams of FNB Volunteers are on the ground in some of the impacted areas to help bring relief to those impacted. We have been inspired by people's willingness to help, and want to encourage other businesses and the public in general to provide their support as every single contribution counts and will help make a difference,” concludes Claassen.
