The architect of the scrapped multibillion-rand plan to develop Cape Town city centre’s Foreshore says he is baffled by the city council decision to go back to the drawing board.
Seven Awards and four Commended projects were announced in the 2015/2016 AfriSam-SAIA Award for Sustainable Architecture + Innovation at a gala event in Cape Town recently.
The Corobrik-SAIA Awards are presented biennually by the South African Institute of Architects (SAIA) and represent the highest accolade that can be bestowed on a building in this country.
The South African architectural industry is changing so radically and with such speed that current business practices will be virtually unrecognisable a decade from now.
This is according to leading architectural firm SVA International, which has been a major industry player for the past 73 years.
