The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) is opening a new office in Cape Town to be used for all its related events held in the city; and ‘to enhance its service to clients, build and strengthen relationships and provide accessible support to the market.’
Capital Markets Director Donna Oosthuyse, said the fact Cape Town was a major centre for global and local institutional investors as well as listed companies inspired the move.
"Being the second largest economic hub of South Africa, and the head office base of many institutional clients and an increasing number of member firms and brokers, an office in the city is a logical part of the JSE's client strategy," said Oosthuyse.
The JSE executive said with Cape Town an increasingly important hub of South Africa's financial services industry, JSE was opening the office in the city to enhance its service to clients, build and strengthen relationships and provide accessible support to the market.
The JSE will be represented by senior capital markets specialist Maryke Vreulink in the Mother City. It will be used for all JSE-related activities and events held in Cape Town.
Cape Town is the economic hub of the Western Cape Province, South Africa's second main economic centre and Africa's third main economic hub city.
