Due to the unreliable energy supply, traditional Eskom based energy is generally replaced by alternative sources. Gas is currently the only reliable energy source as it requires NO electrical supply. With the ever-rising electrical prices, Gas has already proven to be most cost-effective alternative. The Government is focused on the Integrated Recourse Plan which requires gas to grow from 4% to 13% by 2030 thus releasing part of the Coal based power supply.

For 3 of the larger property developers in South Africa gas has, with water and electricity, become an added utility revenue generator. Many have set up separate utility companies as gas offers an attractive ROI.

In the industrial sector, where power outages hamper production processes, Gas has become an indispensable source for backup power generation. Natural gas power turbines and engines are growing exponentially due to its efficiency and reliability. Plants vary from 100kW containerized units up to 200 MW projects for mines and larger developments.

With an innovative design, the industrial, commercial and multi-story student accommodations can now own a Cascading Hot Water System that works reliably without hot water storage.
