Premier Fishing and Brands (Premier) is a Level 1-BBBEE vertically integrated fishing company, that specialises in the harvesting, processing, and marketing of fish and fish-related products. The Group holds medium to long-term fishing rights in squid, lobster, small pelagics, hake, horse mackerel, swordfish, and tuna. The Group also owns and operates an abalone farm and invests in organic fertilisers through the “Seagro” range of products.

Premier Fishing recently celebrated 70 years of first-class business, during which, it has established a globally recognised brand and reputation for delivering quality products. This dedication to customer service and understanding has led to Premier becoming the biggest exporter of squid and lobster in the country and to securing markets in Asia, Europe, North America, and Australia.

Premier has put sustainability at the core of its operations. This includes one of the largest solar powered abalone farms in Africa, as well as being the first fishing company in South Africa to take a vocal stance against over-fishing. As such, Premier has been awarded the top position in its sector for sustainability by IRAS.
