Canal Walk gets some new PEP

Canal Walk at Century City, Cape Town gets its first PEP store on 30 October 2020.

As South Africa’s biggest single brand clothing retailer with more than 2,350 outlets across the country, PEP has been planning the store at Canal Walk very carefully over a long period. PEP CEO Jaap Hamman says; “Our customers have been asking for some time for PEP to be in this important shopping centre and we wanted to make sure that, when we did open there, we delivered an outstanding and contemporary concept store for them. I am very proud of, and excited by, this Canal Walk Store which is paving the way for PEP’s future.”

The new store is twice the size of an average PEP outlet and will have a completely new layout which will include cellular and home. The design is the result of extensive research into both the latest retail trends and the needs of PEP customers, and it involves a collaboration between three specialist design companies. The store boasts energy efficient LED lighting and all plastic bags are made from 100% recycled material.

The Canal Walk store is also one of the first stores to fully use the re-freshed PEP brand look and feel which was recently launched to a very positive reaction.

Hamman says: “We owe to it our loyal customers to keep listening to them and carefully changing in ways that always offer them the lowest prices and convenience PEP’s famous for, while also ensuring that we provide a great shopping experience.”
