Community solar lighting project

BEKA Schréder has supplied the LED solar lighting highmast solution as part of a Seriti community solar lighting project to the Siyanqoba and Klarinet communities in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga province.

This project was sponsored by Seriti’s Community Trust Fund, where Seriti is a broad-based, 91% black-owned and controlled South African mining company. The LED solar lighting highmast solution, the SOLARFLOOD, was chosen, so that the community has light even when there are power cuts, thus increasing safety and well-being for the community, and to prevent cable theft.

LED Solar Lighting Highmast Solution

The SOLARFLOOD is the solar lighting highmast solution for all area applications. BEKA Schréder’s South-African designed and manufactured solar lighting highmast solution for outdoor open area and rural applications provides a high performing, robust option for off-grid solar lighting requirements. It comes with a warranty of up to 5 years (T’s and C’s apply).

The SOLARFLOOD was chosen so that the community has light even when there are power cuts.

BEKA Schréder’s unique solution ensures that the corrosion-proof glass-reinforced polymer (GRP) box, which houses the energy source (Lithium) and other components, is permanently positioned in the shade, due to the Solar panel array being North facing. This ensures that high temperatures, which are the cause of premature battery ageing, are averted.

The SOLARFLOOD provides a reliable lighting solution with a high Ingress Protection level (IP 66) that withstands high ambient temperatures. It is a sustainable off-grid performer with a superior lumen/watt ratio. BEKA Schréder’s high-performing optics allow for mounting of up to 20m, providing high-quality light where it is needed.

The photovoltaic energy conversion is optimized by highly efficient Monocrystalline solar module technology. This, in conjunction with our Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) charging system and our lithium energy storage technology, provides a state-of-the-art quality system, offering the required system autonomy and providing a long-lasting solution to operate in any of our very challenging African environmental conditions.

BEKA Schréder develops and manufactures sustainable and energy-efficient LED lighting products in South Africa, designed and suitable for local conditions.

We are very proud to be associated with Seriti and the Seriti community in providing a successful LED solar lighting highmast solution for this project.
