Rainy weather to cool Cape Town

The Mother Cityโ€™s weather often seems to forget which season it is supposed to be in, but lately, the days have been pleasantly warm and sunny. As weโ€™ve gotten so used to the mixed bag of weather weโ€™ve had recently, the constant warm weather has us wishing for just a few drops of rain.

Luckily, our wishes may come true in the coming week as a number of days offer the possibility of rain, according to weather.com.

From Tuesday, February 4, there is a 10% chance that the province and the city will receive some much-needed rain with some weather apps reporting a higher possibility, the second day of the week is expected to be a hot one with a high of 25ยฐC and a low of 17ยฐC. Wednesday, February 5, will follow suit but with even more chance of rain and higher humidity. Locals can expect maximum temperatures of of 22ยฐC and lows of 17ยฐC.

As of Thursday, February 6, the overall temperature in Cape Town will dip and bring three consecutive cloudy days, all with a chance of bringing rain.

Friday, January 7 will have a 0% chance of precipitation.

As of January 31, 2020, dam levels are at 71% with some of the Mother Cityโ€™s fullest dams at 99.5% (Steenbras Upper) ย and 84.7% (Berg River).

Lowest dams are Theeswaterskloof at 64.3% and Wemmershoek at 72% followed by Voรซlvlei at 72.4%.
