SMME development sponsorship opportunities for corporates at Enterprise & Supplier Development Expo in Cape Town

The 7th annual Smart Procurement World Western Cape event, being held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 18 to 20 May 2020, is the perfect opportunity for corporate organisations to support local enterprise and supplier development.

Debbie Tagg, COO for Smart Procurement, the organisers of the event, explains that by sponsoring SMMEs to exhibit at the Enterprise & Supplier Development (ESD) Expo, organisations will help to match small businesses with buyers from the government and corporate sectors, thereby increasing their growth potential.

The ESD Expo will run alongside the well-known Smart Procurement World conference, which attracts an abundance of procurement and supply chain professionals from the region. Partners of the event include the City of Cape Town, Provincial Government and the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI).

One of the key themes at the 2020 ESD Expo will be local economic development and collaboration between private and public sector, to support small business in the region. โ€œBuyers have identified a specific appetite to invest in more technical small businesses in the areas of engineering, logistics, facilities management, manufacturing and ICT. A targeted group of 200-300 suppliers will be training for the 2020 expo in these areas, in preparation for meeting with pre-qualified buyers,โ€ says Tagg.

Potential corporate sponsors are urged to contact the Smart Procurement World team to discuss customised sponsorship packages that will help to streamline their supply chain through investment in SMME development.
