GA Plus – adjustable earth leakage relay

Introducing the NewElec GA Plus: Empowering You with Total Control

At NewElec, we understand that every customer has unique requirements when it comes to their electrical installations. That’s why we’ve created the NewElec GA Plus Earth Leakage Relay, a cutting-edge solution designed to put control back into your hands.

The GA Plus Earth Leakage Relay goes beyond conventional protection measures. It offers earth leakage protection, also known as ground fault protection, meticulously crafted to safeguard both personnel and equipment. What sets it apart is its innovative ability to distinguish between Earth leakage and Earth fault, routing trips directly to the incoming circuit breaker instead of relying on fault level-limited main circuit contactors.

One of the standout features of the GA Plus is its pioneering harmonic suppression circuit characteristics. This innovation enables highly sensitive earth leakage protection for high-kilowatt motors, whether they’re started direct-on-line or in variable speed drive applications. The result? Nuisance tripping becomes a thing of the past, thanks to the implementation of band pass filters and a clever screen winding on the Current Balance Current Transformer (CBCT) that ensures even flux distribution, even under high starting current conditions
.
Ease of use is paramount with the GA Plus. It comes equipped with an integrated earth leakage test push button, conveniently linked to the test winding on the CBCT. This allows you to test the functionality of the GA Plus and trip circuits effortlessly. Additionally, a rear-accessed RS232 interface provides you with the flexibility to configure output trip relay settings according to your preferences. You can choose between latched or non-latching main trip contacts, opt for Fail-safe or Non Fail-safe configurations, and select from 110V-220V or 380V-525V A.C. auxiliary supply voltages to suit your specific needs.

Notably, the GA Plus boasts a robust trip contact current rating of 6A at 220V and 3A at 525V A.C. The latched ‘contactor trip’ change-over contact ensures security, as it can only be reset by pressing the control panel-mounted push button. Furthermore, sensitivities range from 30mA to 1000mA, with the added flexibility of user-selectable instantaneous or IDMT curve selection, all while utilizing the same earth leakage core.

With the NewElec GA Plus Earth Leakage Relay, you gain control and confidence in the protection of your equipment and installations. Say goodbye to the limitations of traditional systems and embrace the future of electrical control with NewElec’s groundbreaking technology

The settings on the relay can be adjusted via a laptop and the configuration software provided.
