Allmech hosts successful customer event

Allmech, leading South African manufacturer of boilers and supplier of water treatment components and the only authorised South African agent for Runxin valves, recently hosted a customer day. The aim was to provide water treatment company technicians and sales staff with hands-on knowledge and practical solutions for working with Runxin control valves and selecting the correct valve for different applications.

Darren Ryall, Manager at Filtershop.co.za (an online supplier of water filtration equipment), says it was useful to learn about updates to some of the Runxin models. “I’ve been working with some of the water treatment valve heads for years and even I learnt a few new things,” he says. “I brought along two of my new staff and the event was useful for them too.”

Anelia Hough, water treatment consultant at Allmech, says the event included various product introductions and demonstrations, from highlighting the F139 swimming pool valve (which has different applications in the market) to new non-return valves, pressure-reducing valves, and ceramic ball valves, as well as new manual and automatic disk filters, and a leak detection valve.

There was a practical session on how to wire the new ceramic 6-wire ball valves and a discussion of their application in the water treatment industry, followed with a session on solving common site problems on the control valves, which included tips on fixing the most frequent issues encountered.

Allmech also explained the company’s repair and testing capabilities. “We have a Runxin test bench, which means that we’re able to assess problematic valves and potentially repair them, which is often more cost effective than a full replacement,” says Hough. “This offers added value to our clients by assisting them with optimising costs and extending their equipment life.”

Ryall adds that he has been working with Allmech for several years now and continues to do business with the company because of the quality of the Runxin products stocked. He says the event was helpful in showcasing the full range that Allmech stocks, as he was not aware of all the products on offer.
