Cape Town tourism sector gets a boost with EO’s Global Leadership Conference 2023

Cape Town’s local tourism sector is about to experience a welcome boost in activity thanks to the Entrepreneurs’ Organization’s (EO) flagship event – the 2023 Global Leadership Conference (GLC) being held in the Mother City from 25 – 27th April.

The Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) is a high-quality support network of more than 17,500 business founders and owners. There are currently 220 chapters in 75 countries worldwide, with four chapters in South Africa – Cape Town, Cape Winelands, Johannesburg and Durban.

Attracting almost 1,400 EO members from 62+ countries worldwide along with their families and another 450+ joining online, the three-day GLC event aims to give its members the opportunity to network, learn and engage with each other whilst experiencing the beauty and warm hospitality Cape Town has to offer.

“The last few years have been very tough for the local economy especially the tourism and hospitality sector who were the last to open after the pandemic. The global EO community are all leaders and change makers who are a powerful force for development and opportunity in their own communities. Hosting the GLC in Cape Town gives us the incredible opportunity to showcase not only South Africa’s natural beauty but also the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit and the potential investment opportunities that exist here.” says Richard Rayne, President of EO Cape Town and CEO of iLearn.

For any community, group participation forms social bonds that foster mutual trust and expand social networks, which is why GLC advocates for a wide variety of tourism-based activities to be included in their line-up of events.

We expect members to join us from all over the world, some of the countries represented are, Spain, Australia, China, Mexico, Uganda, Japan, Israel, Turkey, Germany and New Zealand, amongst others, with most bringing  their families to share the experience of Cape Town and the Winelands. With more than 50 social activities planned, GLC attendees can look forward to mountain biking, kiteboarding, hiking, wine tasting, township tours, dinner experiences, helicopter flips, safari experiences, and much more.”  mentioned Rayne.

GLC is intended to be an immersive experience aimed at enabling transformational growth. Not only will attendees engage with each other through experience sharing, they will also learn from some of the world’s leading experts and keynote speakers. Some of these include entrepreneur, humanitarian and Nelson Mandela’s granddaughter HRH Princess Zamaswazi Dlamini-Mandela; author, speaker, and the longest-held surviving prisoner of Al Qaeda, Stephen McGown; adventurer, No. 1 bestselling author, and host of several TV series including, Emmy award-nominated Man vs. Wild, Bear Grylls; futurist, five-time bestselling author, and co-host of “The Expansive Business Podcast, John Sanei; and futurist, educator and founder of the Future of Now, Elatia Abate; to name a few.
