Cape Town’s reality just got twisted

Museum of Illusions officially opens with a Star-Studded Bang!

Kloof Street, Cape Town transformed into a portal of wonder as the Museum of Illusions Cape Town officially launched, drawing in a glittering crowd of celebrities, leading content creators, local media, and thrilled VIP guests. The launch not only marked the grand debut of the Mother City’s newest must-see destination; it firmly cemented the Museum of Illusions as a future icon on Cape Town’s vibrant cultural map.

From mind bending optical illusions to gravity defying rooms and kaleidoscopic installations, guests were left gasping, laughing, posing, and posting as they experienced over 60 interactive exhibits designed to blow the mind and boggle the senses. It was a launch day filled with wide eyes, dropped jaws, and endless Instagram moments.

The launch event showcased not just the playful, interactive spirit of the museum, but also its role as a place for connection, creativity, and community. Whether you’re a content creator, an adventurous family, or a couple looking for a fun date idea, MOI Cape Town is set to become one of the city’s most talked-about attractions.

“The launch response has been phenomenal,” said Mark Collie, owner of the Museum of Illusions South Africa. “Cape Town turned up in full force, and the energy was electric. This is not your typical museum experience; it’s playful, curious, hands on, and unforgettable. We can already tell that Cape Town is going to fall in love with this space.”

Originally launched in Zagreb, Croatia in 2015, the Museum of Illusions has become a global phenomenon with locations in New York, Paris, Dubai, and now, proudly, Cape Town its second home in South Africa and the 61st location worldwide.
