Top-quality cutting, grinding and sanding accessories deliver high performance and long lifespans
RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE: ECM), a global multi-channel provider of industrial and electronic products and solutions, today launched a comprehensive new range of RS PRO abrasives for metalworking applications, including cutting and grinding discs and a wide selection of sanding and finishing products.
The RS PRO abrasives portfolio includes: bonded abrasives such as cutting discs including extra-thin types, grinding discs, and flap discs; coated abrasives including fibre discs, emery rolls and sheets, hand pads, waterproof paper sheets, hook and loop sanding discs, and flap wheels, all for sanding applications; and an extensive range of wire brushes including spindle-mounted, cup and bench-grinder types, and poly-abrasive wheels.
A key element of the portfolio is the range of bonded cutting discs, which are available for metal-cutting applications across an extensive range of sizes. Extra-thin low-vibration discs have also been developed for the precision cutting of sheet metal. In addition, they do not contain iron, sulphur or chlorine, making them suitable for cutting stainless steel. All the cutting and grinding discs use premium-quality raw materials to deliver increased levels of lifespan and performance and are manufactured to OSA European safety standards. The portfolio also includes a range of zirconium-based flap discs, designed for stock removal, finishing and polishing applications. These discs are backed with lightweight fibreglass to absorb vibration, making them strong and highly durable.
The wire brush range includes: spindle-mounted types, which come with high-resistance brass-dipped steel or stainless-steel wire; cup brushes suitable for use with angle grinders and other machinery; crimped steel-wire brushes suitable for bench grinders; and spindle-mounted poly-abrasive wheels, which offer a unique structure together with synthetic resin coating for the removal of rust, paint, thermal bluing and other contaminants.
The RS PRO range of spindle-mounted flap wheels is available in a broad range of sizes and grades for deburring and cleaning a diverse range of materials, including stainless steel, standard/alloy steel, aluminium and non-ferrous metals.
