Set to be complete in late March, the vessel marks a new phase of innovation and excellence for the long-time boat builder
Robertson and Caine, a global leader in innovative and award-winning catamaran manufacturing, is proud to announce the near completion of its 3 000th boat, set to be ready for sailing by the end of March. This landmark achievement underscores the company’s continued excellence in catamaran craftsmanship, pushing the boundaries of design, performance and luxury.
The 3 000th boat, a Leopard 40 Powercat and 2024 European Power Boat of the Year award winner, was hand-crafted in Cape Town, South Africa. The vessel is crafted with ocean performance design incorporating naval architecture provided by Simonis Voogd. With a focus on fuel efficiency and expanded cabin volume, the Leopard 40 Powercat provides stability in sailing in any water condition.
Following a local celebration at the Robertson and Caine manufacturing facility in Cape Town, the 3 000th vessel will be celebrated on the global stage at the La Grande Motte International Boat Show, in the South of France beginning on April 23, 2025.
Since its founding more than three decades ago, Robertson and Caine has been at the forefront of catamaran innovation, delivering world-class vessels to customers across the globe, including those in the United States, Europe and the Mediterranean. With an emphasis on safety, sustainability, performance and comfort, this milestone further demonstrates reasoning for the company’s many notable accolades and awards such as Cruising World’s 2025 Boat of the
Year and European Power Boat of the Year for 2024.
Each and every Robertson and Caine catamaran is hand-crafted, not mass-produced, emphasizing the attention to detail necessary for each vessel. Throughout its 34 years in business, Robertson and Caine has employed more than 2,400 employees, some of whom have been with the company since its inception.
Consistent and constant demand is what makes Robertson and Caine the largest catamaran manufacturer in South Africa, building 200 of the roughly 300 boats built in the country in 2024.
“Reaching this incredible milestone is a testament to the dedication, innovation and craftsmanship that define the Robertson and Caine One Team. It is with great pride and thanks
to the Robertson and Caine team members, customers, partners and all stakeholders. Thank you and congratulations to all,” said Theo Loock, CEO of Robertson and Caine. “Since our founding, we have remained committed to designing and building world-class catamarans that inspire adventure and push the boundaries of performance, comfort and sustainability.
