Facilities Management Expo 2023 a big hit with the FM market

Now in its third year, the Facilities Management Expo held at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand from 6 to 8 June 2023, was a great success for both exhibitors of facilities management (FM) products and services, and the visitors seeking these FM solutions.

“We welcomed a combined record 11 465 visitors to the Facilities Management Expo and co-located Securex South Africa, A-OSH EXPO, and Firexpo. The expo has proved itself as the definitive source of FM solutions for a market hungry for high-quality products and services. Added to the fantastic variety of solutions available, is the insightful content disseminated at the free-to-attend Facilities Management Seminar Theatre, powered by Broll Integrated Facilities Management,” says Mark Anderson, Portfolio Director at Specialised Exhibitions — a division of Montgomery Group.

The feedback received from the visitors was extremely encouraging. “I found that the show was very well laid out and found what I came looking for.” Shawn Huysman — SOHO; “A very well organised show.” Craig Carter and Shane Hendricks — Buena Vista Trading 82 Spec Systems; “I specifically came to the Facilities Management and A-OSH EXPO shows to see what the latest trends are.” Moses Mabila — Eskom Holdings; “It was a positive experience for me. It was an opportunity to engage with suppliers that are more knowledgeable. I enjoyed seeing what new technologies and software are available.” Deon Borman —Genius Technologies.

The 39 (combined Facilities Management Expo and Firexpo) exhibitors expressed their satisfaction: “Being the Platinum sponsor at Facilities Management Expo was great for us. The Facilities Management Seminar Theatre, the signage, the Premier Visitor/Media Lounge, and our Broll Meeting Room all succeeded in drawing people in to ask about our holistic facilities management solutions. The Seminar Theatre proved very popular with visitors who said we are touching on and addressing all their pain points.” Batabile Sibaca — Broll Integrated Facilities Management.

“We were very busy, and we are thrilled with the response to our offering at Facilities Management Expo. We not only manage properties, but we have also moved into property development, and we are focusing strongly on the social development of the ESG strategy.” Mel Barends — Bayete Capital.

“We have been exhibiting at Securex since we launched the company 13 years ago. This year at Securex and Facilities Management Expo, our goal was to accentuate our brand, and in line with this we took a much larger stand space, which allows us to emphasise our holistic offering. We were extremely busy, and it was great to see such a diverse range of potential customers.” Pierre Slabbert — Instacom.

The free-to-attend Facilities Management Seminar Theatre powered by Broll Integrated Facilities Management was extremely well attended. “The topics covered in the seminar sessions were pertinent to the very specific needs of the facilities management market sector. Topics such as the use of AI and security technology in buildings; workspace design; deploying facilities strategies that enhance performance, health, wellness and enable positive experiences; energy systems for buildings – controlling energy costs and avoiding loadshedding; and the application of industrial scale monitoring, data analytics and artificial intelligence to commercial and retail facilities, were just some of the thought-provoking subject addressed over the three days,” says Anderson.

This year’s events were so successful that the organisers have extended the floorspace into Hall 4 (the expos are currently in Halls 2 and 3), to accommodate the demand from exhibitors at the 2024 four co-located shows, being held at Gallagher Convention Centre from 28 to 30 May 2024.
