Werner Pumps, leading South African design, manufacture, supply and maintenance specialist in high-pressure jetting equipment recently handed over one of its high-pressure jetting trailers to the Prince Albert Municipality at the heart of the Central Karoo.
“We really struggle with sewage blockages in the municipality, so this machine is going to assist with sorting those out,” says Operational Facilitator at Prince Albert Municipality, Danvor Sarelse. “We selected this unit because it meets the specifications I wrote up and it will meet our needs.”
Sarelse says that, to date, the municipality has not had the correct equipment to manage sewage blockages. This has meant blockages take longer to resolve, and it costs the municipality more. He is looking forward to using “the right tool for the right job” and says he expects a reduction in costs and an improvement in how quickly sewer blockages can be resolved.
Werner Pumps has developed a reputation for high-quality, 100% locally manufactured jetting and vacuum trucks, as well as its trailer units, which cater for smaller applications and operators. The company offers various trailer-mounted drain blasters and ultra-high-pressure cleaners, which are an ideal solution for cleaning domestic sewer lines, as well as water sandblasting and pressure cleaning.
Sebastian Werner, MD at Werner Pumps, says that they are sought after products because the price point is lower than a truck unit. “They are also easy to transport and able to get into smaller spaces,” he says. “This is why they are great for servicing residential sewers, small municipal operations, or for other domestic jetting applications.”
Although Werner Pumps is headquartered in Springs, in Gauteng, it offers nationwide service, and dispatched a team to Prince Albert for the handover of the trailer unit. “We always want to be at these events ourselves, to ensure that not only is the customer satisfied with the unit they’ve purchased, but also that we’ve given them proper operator training to ensure the machine stays in good working condition,” says Werner.
He says that the company manufactures all trailers to order, allowing customers specify exactly what they need. The drain blaster trailer units come with diesel-driven 600-litre breaker tanks and hydraulic hose reels with 120m hoses, all fitted on high-speed road ordinance trailers. There are models available for every need, ranging from 70 litres per minute to 500 litres per minute, with pressures from 130 Bar to 205 Bar and power from 35kW to 500kW.
Extras available include a Werner low-water inlet switch, high-pressure jetting hose (20m, 30m or 50m), a high-pressure gun with lance, nozzle holder and fan nozzle, and the Werner small hose reel for smaller diameter hoses, for cleaning of household lines.
