‘I am very pleased about these additions to the MyCiTi network. It provides residents with better access to this reliable and affordable bus service with stops close to schools and commercial areas. This is another example of how the MyCiTi network is aligned with and has responded to the needs of the communities we serve. One of the new Atlantis stops will provide safer access to a local primary school. In Woodstock, a new stop will be added next to an existing public transport stop allowing for smoother transfers between other public transport services and MyCiTi. Furthermore commuters are to note that the D01 and D02 routes connecting Khayelitsha with the Cape Town city centre will operate additional weekday trips with effect from today,18 March 2024,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.The new trips along the D01 and D02 routes will depart as follows:
D01 Khayelitsha East to the Civic Centre
• From Kuyasa towards Civic Centre: 05:30, 07:36, 17:53
• From Civic Centre towards Kuyasa: 06:47, 16:30, 18:50
D02 Khayelitsha West to the Civic Centre
• From Kuyasa towards Civic Centre: 05:05, 07:04, 17:06
• From Civic Centre towards Kuyasa: 06:15, 15:58, 17:57
These improvements were confirmed after detailed technical assessments of the need and viability of these stops.
