Volvo Trucks names top dealers in SA

Volvo Trucks announced its top dealers in the country. Volvo Trucks and Buses Johannesburg was named the Mega Dealer of the Year, while Magnis Trucks Pretoria East walked away with top honours in the Medium Dealer category. Volvo Trucks and Buses Beaufort West was crowned Small Dealer of the Year.

“As part of our promise to provide our customers with the best possible support, it is important that our dedicated dealer teams deliver services and solutions that are of the highest quality, day in and day out,” said Waldemar Christensen, MD of Volvo Trucks South Africa. “In a year where fleet operators faced extreme challenges, from loadshedding to fuel price increases, their uptime and efficiency were as always our top priority.”

Volvo Trucks currently has 19 dealers in South Africa and representation in Botswana, Eswatini, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

“With the Volvo Trucks vehicle parc continuing to increase, we are strengthening our reach with a focused strategy of offering valuable support to our customers throughout the lifetime of their trucks,” explained Christensen.

The Volvo Trucks and Buses Johannesburg team were ecstatic after their win and attributed it to the dedication of every employee at the dealership, from administrative staff, to technicians, sales executives, parts and service specialists, and apprentices.

“When we service a customer’s truck, we want them to know that it’s done right. No shortcuts. No surprises. And we aim to apply this level of quality in every aspect of our business and in all our interactions with our customers,” said Haneef Laher, Regional Manager of Volvo Trucks and Buses Johannesburg.

With a range of new extra heavy electric trucks also now being launched in South Africa, Volvo Trucks continuously invests in the training of their staff.

“Through skilled technicians, genuine parts and specialised tools, Volvo Trucks dealers are committed to keeping our customers’ trucks in peak condition, and on the road as much as possible,” said Christensen. “We believe that the quality of our dealerships and the level of sustainable support they provide along the major trade corridors in the region, adds significant value to our customers’ operations.”

Volvo Trucks supplies complete transport solutions for discerning professional customers with its full range of medium- and heavy-duty trucks. Customer support is provided via a global network of dealers with 2,300 service points in about 130 countries. Volvo trucks are assembled in 12 countries across the globe. In 2022 approximately 145,000 Volvo trucks were delivered worldwide. Volvo Trucks is part of the Volvo Group, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of trucks, buses, construction equipment and marine and industrial engines. The group also provides complete solutions for financing and service. Volvo Trucks’ work is based on the core values of quality, safety and environmental care.
