Cape Town in for a rainy Thursday

Rejoice, Cape Town โ€“ there is more rain on the way this week. Showers are expected on Thursday, with a 70% chance of precipitation predicted.

Locals are in for highs of 20ยฐC and lows of 16ยฐC on Thursday. The rest of the week will also be cooler, with temperatures moving to highs of 21ยฐC and lows of 17ยฐC on Friday along with cloudy weather.

It comes as no surprise that Capetonians are happily welcoming as much rain as we can get in light of the steadily-decreasing dam levels.

As of March 6, dam levels have dropped to an overall 52.9%, with the least full dams in the province having even lower levels.

Theewaterskloof is currently at an overall storage of 41% and Steenbras Lower is at 51.4%.

The dam with the highest storage capacity in the Cape is currently the Berg River dam at 73.9%.

Remember to dress for the weather tomorrow and cross your fingers that the much-needed rains fall for a little longer than usual.
