OEM-approved components ensure reliability of heavy-duty vehicles

BMG was appointed recently by SKF Automotive – a global leader in bearing and sealing technology – as a distribution partner of the complete SKF Vehicle Aftermarket range.

“Through our partnership with SKF Automotive, BMG supplies the automotive sector, heavy-duty fleet operators and workshops with trusted, premium SKF Vehicle Aftermarket components that deliver quality, performance, safety and durability on the road,” says Carlo Beukes, Business Development Manager, for BMG’s Agricultural, Automotive and Lubrication division. “An important sector of our automotive service is to support operators of trucks, trailers, buses and bakkies across Southern Africa with OEM components that perform consistently, even in challenging conditions and over long distances.

“SKF supplies OEM-quality solutions for many truck brands, including DAF, Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Scania and Volvo. Each component is precision-engineered and meets stringent global specifications, giving fleet managers and workshop teams the assurance of quality, safety and long service life.

“Continuous investment in design, advanced materials and testing ensures that every product delivers consistent performance under heavy loads, vibration and extreme temperature variations. To complement mechanical reliability, the company incorporates lightweight component design, friction-reduction technologies and closed-loop production processes. By embracing sustainability-driven engineering, CO₂ emissions are reduced and service intervals are extended. This initiative supports the environmental targets of fleet operators, without compromising performance.”

The SKF Vehicle Aftermarket portfolio for heavy-duty vehicles covers critical systems throughout the drivetrain and chassis. Wheel hub units and wheel bearing kits are pre-assembled for quick, one-piece replacement, which reduces installation time and minimises the risk of premature failure.

Steering and suspension components – including ball joints, tie rods, torque rods and stabiliser links – are manufactured to exacting tolerances and specially treated for corrosion-resistance. Transmission repair kits, coolant pumps, fan belts and tensioners maintain mechanical integrity and engine temperature control in demanding operating conditions.

OEM-standard hub units and suspension assemblies reduce maintenance complexity. SKF’s steering and suspension range, which is guaranteed for 24 months after installation, uses high-performance grease formulations, together with natural-rubber bushings, for optimal durability and driving comfort. The company’s wheel hub assemblies integrate matched bearings, hubs and fastenings, enabling accurate installation and lowering total cost of ownership through fewer warranty claims and reduced service intervals.

In partnership with SKF Automotive, the BMG team supports commercial fleet operators and workshop service centres with consistent product availability and technical support.
