The Steinmüller Africa Kendal Boilerserve team has been awarded the Eskom Kendal Power Station Contractor of the Year Award 2024. This award demonstrates the company’s continued role as leaders in the steam generation plant service industry.
Presented at the Eskom Kendal Power Station Manager’s Awards Ceremony, the team was recognised for achieving a weld repair rate of less than 2% over the current and previous Eskom financial year, alongside more than 1.7 million hours worked with no lost time due to injury.
Kendal Power Station, located in Mpumalanga, is Africa’s largest power station, with a generation capacity of approximately 4 000 megawatts. Boiler maintenance is essential for the efficient, safe, and reliable operation of a power station. This is the first time the team has received this prestigious award since being awarded the contract in 2022.

These sessions ensured that the crew clearly understood expectations regarding protocols and standards for both the client and Steinmüller Africa.
