Cross Switch has gone live with Absa Pay, enabling merchants on its platform to offer customers a secure, bank‑authenticated payment option for online checkout.

When customers select Absa Pay at checkout, they are routed to a secure Absa environment to authenticate the payment directly with their bank before being returned to the merchant’s platform to complete the transaction.

This launch aligns with Cross Switch’s strategy to adopt modern, bank‑led payment methods that enhance customer trust and streamline the digital commerce experience.

Absa developed Absa Pay to provide fintechs, e‑commerce platforms, and other digital partners with a safe, authenticated way to engage with the bank through secure, API‑based systems. Its purpose is to ensure that partners can connect to Absa using trusted, bank‑controlled authentication flows, without exposing sensitive customer information on external platforms.
