Women’s Month event: From Burnout to Brilliance
By Chantelle Botha
BURNOUT affects women across every stage of life and career, often long before they recognise the signs. This Women’s Month, the From Burnout to Brilliance event brings together five women from three countries to explore why burnout isn’t simply exhaustion.
Sleeping more, taking a holiday, and improving work-life balance matter. But for many women, exhaustion isn’t the beginning of burnout. It’s the end result.
Long before a woman reaches breaking point, she has spent years abandoning herself. She says yes when she wants to say no. She carries responsibilities that were never hers alone. She postpones the things that bring her joy because everyone else’s needs feel more urgent. She becomes so good at being everything for everyone else that she slowly loses connection with herself.
Eventually the body speaks the truth the woman has been unable to. We call it burnout. We believe it can become the beginning of brilliance.
During Women’s Month we celebrate women’s resilience. And we should. But perhaps resilience isn’t about carrying more. Perhaps it’s about remembering that you matter too.
That’s why From Burnout to Brilliance isn’t another event about productivity or pushing through. It’s an invitation to stop surviving and start reconnecting with the woman underneath all the roles she performs.
We’re grateful to be joined by partners who share that belief. Morebo champions women’s financial confidence and future security. Dermalogica reminds us that self-care isn’t a luxury but an essential part of living well. And Cape Business News continues to champion the conversations that inspire leadership, innovation and meaningful impact across South Africa.
What makes this event different is that no single speaker has all the answers.
Instead, five women with very different stories explore one shared belief: brilliance isn’t something you achieve by doing more. It’s something you uncover when you stop abandoning yourself.
Our host, Erin Anastasopoulos, describes herself as the golden thread, weaving together conversations that remind every woman she is the MC of her own life.
Claire Boscq understands what it means to rebuild after profound personal loss and teaches women how to restore energy and flow rather than simply manage fatigue.
Joni Peddie has lived through burnout, grief and reinvention, and now helps people build resilience through sustainable habits instead of relentless pressure.
Carolyn Strauss knows what happens when success outgrows identity and shows women how to reinvent themselves without losing who they are.
And my work asks a different question altogether: What would you want if you weren’t ashamed of wanting it? Because I spent 40 years believing shame had the final say. Like so many women, I learned that wanting more might cost me love and belonging.
Burnout isn’t always solved by doing less. Most often healing begins when you become more honest about who you’ve stopped being.
If you’ve been running on empty, constantly giving to everyone else, or wondering where your spark has gone, perhaps this Women’s Month isn’t asking you to become stronger.
Brilliance isn’t something you have to become. It’s what remains when shame no longer gets the final word.
Whether you’re investing in yourself or investing in the women who help shape your business, From Burnout to Brilliance is more than an event. It’s an investment in energy, leadership and possibility. Individual tickets and group bookings are available, with special rates for teams. We invite you to join us this Women’s Month.
