BEKA Schréder wins the President’s Award at 2023 AMEU Convention

BEKA Schréder is thrilled to have won the Best Supporting Affiliate Member Award at the Association of Municipal Electricity Utilities (AMEU) 2023 President’s Awards.

BEKA Schréder’s Daniel Kasper accepts the Award from AMEU President, Nndwamato Mutshidza.

The 2023 President’s Awards were presented during the AMEU Convention’s gala dinner on the 3rd of October. BEKA Schréder is proud to have been awarded the Best Supporting Affiliate Member Award. This Award was based on the criteria for most sustainable project, which was Stanford Road in Gqeberha (Eastern Cape), where a solar lighting highmast solution was supplied. This installation is the result of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s initiative to keep cables out of the reach of criminals through its highmast solar lighting pilot programme.

BEKA Schréder’s SOLARFLOOD was chosen for this pilot project. 20m high solar highmasts were chosen to combat rampant cable theft and destruction of infrastructure and, furthermore, to be able to provide lighting for the community when there is loadshedding, thus increasing safety and well-being for the community. This is the first solar highmast installation in the Eastern Cape, and a successful pilot project for the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality.

BEKA Schréder develops and manufactures sustainable and energy-efficient LED lighting products in South Africa, designed and suitable for local conditions.
