Electrically operated, energy-efficient double diaphragm pumps

BMG has expanded its fluid handling offering with the introduction of the new EVO Series 210 electric double diaphragm pump range, designed to deliver dependable, energy-efficient fluid transfer in demanding industrial applications.Ā

ā€œThe new EVO 210 series – which forms part of Ingersoll Rand’s ARO fluid handling products – offers an alternative to conventional air-operated diaphragm pumps. These new electric double diaphragm pumps combine the familiar benefits of diaphragm pump technology with lower energy consumption, quieter operation and simplified maintenance,ā€ says Joe Pinheiro, BMG’s National Product Manager, Pumps. ā€œThe EVO Series 210 range, which is engineered for applications requiring reliable fluid transfer, batching and dosing, is suited to sectors including chemical processing, mining, wastewater treatment and general manufacturing. These pumps are designed to handle challenging process conditions while helping operators reduce operating costs and maintenance demands.

ā€œUnlike traditional air-operated diaphragm pumps that rely on compressed air, the EVO Series uses an electric motor to drive a mechanism that moves flexible diaphragms in a controlled reciprocating motion. This creates suction by drawing fluid into the pump chamber before discharging it through the outlet valve, delivering smooth and consistent flow. By eliminating the need for compressed air infrastructure, the system improves overall energy efficiency while reducing operational noise.ā€

A key feature of the new range is its focus on operational efficiency and reliability. Compared with air-operated alternatives, the EVO Series 210 significantly reduces energy consumption while maintaining robust performance. Secondary leak containment for process fluids enhances operational safety, with optional electronic leak detection available for critical applications where early fault warning is essential.

Maintenance has also been simplified through a practical design that allows access to both diaphragms from the same side of the unit, an advantage in confined installation environments where service access is often restricted. A durable, straightforward drive mechanism with fewer components is intended to improve long-term reliability while reducing service complexity and maintenance costs.

The EVO Series 210 is available in both metallic and non-metallic configurations to suit specific application requirements. Metallic variants in aluminium and Stainless Steel provide durability for more demanding mechanical environments, while polypropylene and PVDF non-metallic options offer enhanced chemical compatibility for aggressive fluid handling applications.

The EVO 210, a 1-inch model within the range, is equipped with a 1.5 kW four-pole motor and is suitable for smaller batch and dosing applications. Multiple voltage and frequency units enable compatibility with varying electrical supply requirements, while inverter-duty motor capability allows integration with variable frequency drives, where process control flexibility is required.

The new air-operated double diaphragm EVO Series 210 range meets ISO 12100 standards and carries CE certification. Metallic pumps are also available from BMG for hazardous environment applications requiring relevant compliance.

BMG supports this range with a technical advisory service to ensure the selection of the most suitable pump for every application. The company also supplies a full range of ARO diaphragm pump parts and accessories for standard repair and maintenance requirements.Ā
