Schoeman Attorneys expands and changes their trading name

Schoemanlaw Inc t/a Schoeman Attorneys today announced the change of their trading name to: Schoeman Tshaka Attorneys, Conveyancers and Notaries Public.

This Cape Town based law firm specialises in commercial law and focuses on serving the needs of entrepreneurs (from start-ups to large corporates) by tailoring sophisticated, yet practical, legal solutions so that businesses can achieve their most ambitious goals. In addition, they are specialist conveyancers and notaries public.

Nicolene Schoeman is the founder of the firm. She is an esteemed and respected member of Cape Town’s business community, a passionate attorney and an entrepreneur. Nicolene started Schoeman Attorneys when she was 24 years old. The firm, now in its 6th year, is proud to have a professional team whose values of uncompromising service standard and integrity align with that which clients have come to expect from Nicolene. She is a specialist in commercial law, BBBEE and business continuity planning, in addition to being an expert conveyancer and notary public. She focuses on serving the firm’s medium size to large corporate clients as well as serving business owners in respect of their individual needs. She is able to advise them as an expert in the legal field and from first-hand experience as a successful entrepreneur.

The new member of the management team and co-owner, Mr Mzo Tshaka, joined the firm as a Consultant Attorney in November 2012. He joins the firm as a partner from 1 November 2013. Mzo brings with him 10 years of experience in the legal field, 4 of which he spent as a partner at one of Cape Town’s well-known firms. He was only 28 when he was invited to partnership, becoming that firm’s youngest director. He is a specialist in commercial law and BBBEE and is also deeply passionate about business. He currently serves as the Deputy Chairperson of the Black Management Forum in the Western Cape, in addition to serving in other boards of profit and non-profit companies. He will add to the firm’s expertise in commercial law and commercial litigation, whilst also expanding the firm’s service offerings to other fields, including corporate finance and evictions. His main focus is also on the needs of medium size companies to large corporates. Owing to his qualifications, involvement in community development programmes and his political awareness, he is able to advise clients holistically in a manner that maximises their best interests.

Nicolene Schoeman says “the change in their branding and the welcoming of Mr Mzo Tshaka is the culmination of my life-long dream. It has always been my intention to establish a firm that really caters for the needs of entrepreneurs (regardless for the business’ size) and business owners (in their personal capacity.) In addition I have always wanted this firm to be proudly South African, where the staff is diverse in every sense and where we, together, make a powerful team. I believe our power lies within our diversity and in our pride of being South African.”

Nicolene’s views are shared by Mzo who says “one of the reasons I decided to join the team was the firm’s commitment to having a genuinely South African law firm, anchored in the spirit of diversity. There is no doubt in my mind that our clients will greatly benefit from our know-how, experience and diversity.”

This new chapter will take the firm to new heights and propel it to its rightful place as being a trend-setting firm where clients receive tailor made legal solutions that comply but also make good business sense.
