New equipment expands fleet of heavy lift jacks

MAMMOET, the worldโ€™s largest engineered heavy lifting and transport service provider,โ€ฏis expandingโ€ฏits range of innovative equipment withโ€ฏthe addition ofโ€ฏtenโ€ฏnew towersโ€ฏforโ€ฏits Mega Jack 800 system.โ€ฏBringing the total number of Mega Jack 800 towers to 22, this will increaseโ€ฏtheโ€ฏglobalโ€ฏavailabilityโ€ฏof an innovation that has been proven to reduce risk and improve efficiency across projects such as civil infrastructure renewal,โ€ฏport expansionsโ€ฏandโ€ฏpetrochemical facilityโ€ฏconstruction.

Allโ€ฏofโ€ฏthese projects prioritize the need for safe, efficient work that minimizes the impact on business as usual, such as the flow of traffic, movement or cargo or flow of product.

Theโ€ฏMega Jack 800 offers a highlyโ€ฏeffective solutionโ€ฏto these challenges.โ€ฏOriginallyโ€ฏdeveloped by Mammoetโ€ฏin 2014,โ€ฏitโ€ฏprovidesโ€ฏsignificant lifting power (800 tons per tower) within a compact footprintโ€ฏthatโ€ฏreducesโ€ฏitsโ€ฏimpact on other site operations.

This allowsโ€ฏprojects such asโ€ฏbridge installationsโ€ฏtoโ€ฏbe performedโ€ฏquickerโ€ฏโ€“โ€ฏsometimesโ€ฏin a matter of just aโ€ฏfew daysโ€ฏโ€“ andโ€ฏwork to expand or heighten portโ€ฏcranesโ€ฏtoโ€ฏbe completed with less disruptionโ€ฏtoโ€ฏtheโ€ฏoperations around them.โ€ฏIn oil & gas, our customers benefit from a strong and versatile lifting system thatโ€ฏcan be deployed quickly with the majority of work undertaken at ground level.

Ronald Hoefmans, Head of R&D and Fabrication at Mammoet explains:

โ€œMore Mega Jack 800 towers means moreโ€ฏpossibilities for our clients to save time, operate more safelyโ€ฏand reduce disruption across a range of different projects. One of the real benefits of the Mega Jack 800 system is its flexibility, and this has allowed it to make a real impact,โ€ฏnot just for civilโ€ฏandโ€ฏport projects butโ€ฏforโ€ฏthe likes of the nuclear decommissioning and OGP industries too.โ€

โ€œBecause it is controlled remotely by computer,โ€ฏthe systemโ€ฏallows highly accurate, simultaneous operation of the towers, which isโ€ฏnot possible with manual jacking systems.โ€ฏImportantly,โ€ฏthisโ€ฏalsoโ€ฏminimizesโ€ฏthe need for interaction with the machinery to help optimize safety on site.โ€

The Mega Jack 800 system isโ€ฏjustโ€ฏone part of Mammoetโ€™s comprehensive range of jacking solutions, fromโ€ฏtraditionalโ€ฏclimbing jacks to the 300t per tower capacityโ€ฏMega Jack 300โ€ฏand 5200t per tower capacityโ€ฏMega Jack 5200.
