Transport Minister to address Exporters Western Cape on national freight logistics roadmap
Exporters Western Cape (EWC) has secured a major engagement opportunity for the region’s export community, with Minister of Transport Barbara Creecy set to address members and stakeholders on 2 June at the Nedbank Auditorium, Clocktower Precinct, V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.
The Minister will provide insight into the National Freight Logistics Roadmap, a key component of Natmap 2050, which is expected to play a significant role in reshaping and strengthening South Africa’s transport and logistics landscape.
EWC Chairman Terry Gale said the organisation was delighted to host the Minister at a time when exporters were seeking greater certainty and understanding around policy direction, infrastructure development and logistics reform.
“Securing the Minister’s participation is a significant achievement for Exporters Western Cape and reflects our commitment to ensuring that exporters have direct access to decision-makers shaping the future of South Africa’s logistics environment,“ said Gale.
“These engagements are critically important. Exporters need to remain informed about policy, legislation and infrastructure developments that impact their ability to compete in global markets. Understanding the direction of the National Freight Logistics Roadmap and Natmap 2050 will help businesses prepare for the opportunities and challenges ahead.”
Gale said growing exports from the Western Cape remained a strategic priority for the organisation.
“Our goal is to be the voice of exporters in the region and to facilitate meaningful engagement between industry and government. A stronger, more efficient transport and logistics system is essential if South Africa is to unlock export growth and improve competitiveness. We look forward to welcoming the Minister and hearing first-hand about government’s plans for the sector.”
